Pamela Wainwright       37-year-old Pamela was admitted to Shallowford Community Hospital in Dunwoody, Georgia on January 15, 1987. Her physician, Dr. Wendell Phillips, was to perform an 11-week abortion and a tubal ligation on her. During the surgery on the 16th, carbon dioxide was accidentally pumped into her bloodstream instead of her abdomen. She died almost immediately. She had two children that were still lived with her and her husband, one of which had Down’s Syndrome. (Fulton County (GA) Superior Court D-62259)
